Heidi Thomas

Clayton Moore

Clayton Moore was the first African American hired onto the Fostoria, Ohio police force in 1986. In 2008, the City of Fostoria claimed sixteen conduct violations against Moore and fired him. He challenged the decision, and the arbiter of the case — in a scathing rebuke against the city — reinstated Sgt. Moore, who went on to serve for another ten years, retiring in 2018.

A timely and unique account of the intersection of race and law enforcement in America, Moore shares his story in his first book: “Good Cop, Black Cop: Guilty Until Proven Innocent.”

M. Legend Brown is a self taught motion picture writer, producer and director. Legend considers himself a storyteller. He has been telling stories since the age of eight years old. Legend has his own production company Poorchild Films. He has written and directed 11 films.

Jesse Fiedor

Jesse Fiedor, author of the book “Angels from Heaven”is a public speaker, guest speaker at the world-famous Crystal Cathedral. He is passionate to help others who may think of just giving up on life and their dreams when they feel that there is nothing left to live for. Jesse would like for people to hear how he accomplished what he did with a disability that was so severe that he was not expected to live. Where Jesse is now is a miracle. At one time he had no education, no job, no friends, was living on disability, and was suicidal, just waiting to die. Ultimately his is a story about being true to who one is and who one loves; it’s where he found guidance to succeed in life.

Jesse was able to attend school in London England on disability income and fulfill his dream of getting into the motion picture industry. Jesse went from rags to riches; he is currently a millionaire and cured from epilepsy.

Dan Bartlett

Dan Bartlett is executive vice president of corporate affairs for Walmart. He is responsible for government relations and public policy, corporate communications, philanthropy and the company’s social responsibility and sustainability initiatives.

Before joining Walmart, Dan was president and chief executive officer of the U.S. division of Hill+Knowlton Strategies, where he served as a strategic advisor to business leaders representing key sectors of the American and global economy.

Prior to Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Dan served as president and CEO of Public Strategies, Inc. Previously, he served in several high-ranking positions at the White House, completing his service as counselor to President George W. Bush in July 2007. As one of President Bush’s most trusted advisors, he was responsible for all aspects of communications for the president and his administration, including the White House press office, speechwriting and office of communications. Dan also played key roles in George W. Bush’s presidential and Texas gubernatorial campaigns.

Dan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and has served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs and a fellow of the school’s Center for Politics and Governance. He also serves on the board of directors of Trek Bicycles.

Frani Fox

Frani Fox is a mother, a nurse, a children’s author and served faithfully as a pastor’s wife for over 30 years. She has dealt with tragedy in her life, starting with her father’s suicide to the dissolution of her marriage by the betrayal of adultery, always noting that the LORD is her Shepherd, she has all that she needs.

Emily DeWitt has been serving in ministry alongside her husband for 20 years, is mom to 4 amazing young ladies, and is an educator in both public and private sectors. Emily loves being around people and is grateful for the opportunities God has given her to do life (messy and all) alongside people.

Jason Barnes

Jason Barnes is a pastor, business owner, and proud father of six children. He was born in Texas, but raised in California. His faith was tested when his two oldest children were diagnosed with cancer within six months of each other. God proved Himself faithful through that journey, but it wasn’t easy. Afterward, his family decided to help meet their community’s needs and became foster parents. Throughout the next ten years, they added three more children to their family. Jason’s passion is to pass on the faith that carried him through the trials of his life. According to him, “Faith in God will bring you through anything”.

From the outside, Patty Erbert may look like a typical suburban wife and mother of three. But her story is anything but ordinary. Patty’s life started in an ideal setting in El Salvador until civil war invaded her life. Desperate for a better future, Patty left her home country and came to the United States. She worked hard to create a life for herself. Patty went to school to become a civil engineering designer and draftperson. Patty and her husband met by mere chance, on an airplane. They married and built a life together. They now have 3 young adult children..

Vashti Hassanizadeh

A simple interaction with a missionary changed Vashti Hassanizadeh’s family forever. She grew up in Trinidad with nine siblings in a two-room house, with parents who were indentured servants. Needless to say, money was scarce for their family. But that encounter with the missionary gave their family a faith that would not be shaken. Vashti came to the United States and became a nurse, a wife and a mother. Her journey is one of resilience and unwavering hope.

Samee Dowlatshahi

Samee Dowlatshahi is a husband, father, community leader and successful restaurant owner. Samee’s “Faith Over Fear” attitude has played out all of his life. Coming to the United States from Iran as a teenager without money or knowing the language, he has practiced placing faith over fear along with hard work to create a successful business and to contribute to his community. He is the owner of Samee’s Pizza Getti, a popular restaurant in Rockwall, Texas. He is married to Molly and they have 3 children.
